Artwork settings for disc printing

To always have the best result with inkjet CD printing, some points have to be taken carefully into consideration.

The artwork quality is important to have a good printing finish. Make sure your artwork is suitable for printing, check the size of your document and the resolution. If you are not sure of your artwork, feel free to download the artwork templates above. Never send an artwork with less than 150dpi, the result will be pixellised or blurred.

We are also advising to avoid flat colour background, especially in black. Swap for pale colours in your design for a better result. Black or very dark backgrounds are not a very good alternative because any marks or defaults being amplified on black, the CD or DVD are more easily scratched.

Also, some problems can appear if you require pale texts on a dark background. The ink can spread on the text and the fonts appear to be very thin, almost invisible. Try to bold your text or add an outline.

if you want to print black-only artwork, please make sure you remove all the colours information from your image by saving it as a greyscale picture.

For black thermal printing, please send a vectorised artwork with outlined font and logo. Do not include any fade or photographs.

Finnaly, remember not to put any guide lines on the artworks you send for us to print.
